Pyrometers in hot forming
Hot forming is a manufacturing process where the hot raw material is formed in a tool. A high temperature deformation takes place. Forged parts are used in many areas: screws, bolts and nuts as well as parts with higher stability for the automotive and airspace industry are manufactured using this process. We refer to connecting rods, chassis parts and crankshafts, for example.
Hot forged parts meet high requirements in terms of stability and safety and can withstand high dynamic stress. As it is very expensive to manufacture suitable tools for this process, the temperature of the raw material must be acquired not only for the product quality, but also for the tool preservation.
